Your Crave devices are a key feature of your guest rooms and guest experiences, hence keeping devices fully clean and operational makes all the difference.
Regular troubleshooting of rooms during housekeeping procedures is an excellent way to keep on top of any devices that may be displaying issues.
When troubleshooting devices, it is important to keep in mind the two different types of possible issues; Software issues and Hardware issues.
Depending on the type of fault, different steps will need to take place to resolve the problem in question. See below for examples of each type of fault to look out for.
Software Issues Can Include:
Device stuck on Crave loading screen, Wi-Fi connectivity issues, content such as images not appearing, room number not available or 'Crave Emenu no installed' message.
Hardware Issues Can Include:
Battery performance issues, unresponsive touchscreen, LCD issues, speaker issues or charging issues.
Regular checking of devices is an important way to keep on top of any possible issues and avoids any possible guest complaints should they be first to notice an issue.
It is recommended that routine checking and cleaning of devices is performed during housekeeping procedures when entering a guest room. We recommend doing the following checks;
- Is the device charged / charging on the docking station?
- Is the device responsive to touch across the whole screen?
- Does the device show any cracking to the front screen or LCD screen?
- Is the device connected to a Wi-Fi network?
- Is the device showing the correct content as expected?
If you are noticing large network outages across your Crave devices, it may be worth reviewing your Wi-Fi network.
There are a few necessary network requirements that are needed to be met in order for all of your Crave devices to operate correctly.
Please see our requirement guide below for more information on our network requirements.
There may be times where your device may need more than a simple Wi-Fi reconnect or reconfiguration. In these instances you may want to attempt a factory reset.
A factory reset will wipe your device clear of all information and is often very likely to resolve any minor software issues you may be experiencing.
See our guide below for step by step instructions on how to perform this reset.
