Deliverypoints are what their name describes, delivery points. In most cases, deliverypoints will be your room numbers in your property or table numbers in your business. These function as identifiers for these spaces and hence all in-room tablets will need a deliverypoint assigned to them so orders can be delivered to the right place.
Deliverypoint Groups (DPGs) are simply groups of deliverypoints and hence each deliverypoint made will sit inside the DPG.
DPGs can be used to separate content between areas of your property or venue. If you would like to split content in a way where some areas can only access some content but other areas get to view more or different content, you would want to create a separate DPG to action this.
For example, if you have a limited offering you wish to share with most of your guests in your hotel rooms, but have specific luxury items you wish to only be accessible to guests staying in suites, you would want to create a DPG specifically for the suites.
Each company in the CMS will have at least one DPG to house deliverypoints within. If you want to add new deliverypoints to a DPG, you will need to go to Company -> Deliverypoint Groups and open the relevant DPG using the pen and paper icon.
There is a deliverypoint tab, which when clicked will show you all the current deliverypoints within this DPG. You can add new deliverypoints in batches as and when needed.
For example, if you wanted to add 20 room numbers between 280 and 300, you can put these numbers into the deliverypoint creation fields and press create. These deliverypoints will appear within the DPG and devices can be assigned to these numbers. If you only want to add 1 number, put the number in both boxes.
New DPGs can be created by going to Company -> Deliverypoint Groups in the CMS and pressing ‘Add’. DPG’s should be planned with the Crave support team prior to creation to ensure that an additional DPG is the correct method to achieve the end goal you are looking for.
Once created, the new DPG can be opened using the pen and paper icon and edited according to the need and purpose of the DPG.
DPGs contain a lot of information and settings that will reflect onto in-room tablets that are assigned to that DPG.
Some of the content that is controlled with the DPG settings are:
If you need to adjust or add to any of these settings, they can be found in each DPG and work independently from the other DPGs.
