Homescreen images sit within the main sliding carousel on the tablet's Home tab. These homescreen images consist of an image, appropriate text and subtext and a call to action. When pressed by a guest, the homescreen can link to other relevant sections within the tablet’s content or link externally to a URL. Homescreens are an eye-catching promotional tool often used to promote dining options, spa treatments and other key sections of a property's amenities. Homescreens can be static images or dynamic GIF files.
Homescreens are attached and held within Deliverypoint Groups. This allows different Deliverypoint Groups (DPG’s) to display different content where necessary.
In the CMS, navigate to ‘General Configuration' in the navigation bar and open the section. Select ‘Deliverypoint Groups’ from the list of options and open the DPG you need by double-clicking on it.
Once inside the DPG, click on the ‘Images’ tab. This is where you can see all the Homescreens currently added within the DPG.
Please note that not all images displayed within a DPG are actively displayed on in-room tablets if a Marketing Schedule is present at the DPG level.
To edit a homescreen's action (destination once pressed) you will need to locate the homescreen image within the DPG under the images tab and open it using the pen and paper icon to the right-hand side.
Once inside the homescreen settings, you can navigate to the 'Action' tab and adjust the destination here.
To remove a homescreen, simply locate the image and open it using the pen and paper icon. Once inside the settings of this image simply untick the 'Homescreen' box from the list of tick boxes and press save.
Additional homescreens can be uploaded to in-room tablets by going to the Deliverypoint Group, navigating to the Images tab and pressing 'Add'.
It is important to name your homescreen image files appropriately and consistently for an easier viewing experience within usage reports.
Homescreens are in the size of 928 x 626 pixels and all images used should be selected with these dimensions in mind.
Choose your image file and select the 'Homescreen' tick box. Select 'Action' to link this homescreen to a product, category or weblink when tapped by a guest.
If a Marketing Schedule is present at the DPG level, the homescreen will need to be added here for it to appear on devices. Click below for more information on marketing schedules.
