This section will cover what options you can give guests to pay when ordering a purchasable item or request via your mobile solution.
What is a Checkout Method?
Within your outlet, there is a 'Checkout Methods' tab where you can set what options you would like to give guests when checking out via your mobile solution.
Checkout Methods are a key and compulsory area of your outlet to configure as guests will not be able to place any orders without this created.
You can give guests multiple payment options if needed by creating additional checkout method options within the same outlet.
Payment Provider Checkout
When adding a checkout method you will be given 3 options, Payment Provider, Charge to Room and Pay Later. Payment provider allows you to give guests the option to pay immediately via a card payment and is ideal for restaurant and bar outlets.
Payment Provider checkout methods require a 'Payment Integration Configuration' to be created in the system beforehand. If you do not have one of these created, please reach out to Crave support who will be able to assist you with this.
Other Checkout Methods
Free of Charge checkout methods are automatically added to your Outlet and are only applicable when guests are checking out with baskets that have no monetary value.
Charge to Room checkout methods are common in Hotel environments and allow a guest to place an order with the intention of the value of the order being placed onto the existing room bill and hence would be paid upon checking out.
Pay Later checkout methods are a flexible alternative to the other checkout methods and can be used to allow a guest to checkout with their basket and allow the property to arrange their payment with the user afterward. Pay Later checkout methods are also usually accompanied by additional text explaining the payment process to the user.
