T-Mini Factory Reset Guide

This step by step guide will walk you through the process of performing a factory reset to your Crave T-Mini device.

Why Reset?

Factory resets are often a last resort when attempting to resolve any software related issues a device is displaying, however, a factory reset may be necessary in circumstances where your Crave T-Mini device is;

• Stuck on a loading screen and unresponsive.

• Unable to reestablish a working Wi-Fi connection.

• Failing to load the Crave Emenu or Crave Emenu has become uninstalled.

Begin the factory reset process by first removing your device from its charging dock and ensuring the device is turned off. To do this, press & hold the power button on the top right of the device until the screen turns off.

Now your device is turned off, press and hold the power button and the volume up button down at the same time together, and keep them held for around 5 to 8 seconds until the device begins to power back on.

Should the input be successful, your Crave T-Mini device should now display a black screen with a series of numbers. Using the volume buttons to navigate up and down the numbers, and the power button to select, you will need to input the following code - 8257.

Once inputted correctly, you will be taken to a similar but different screen displaying a list of options. You will need to continue to use the volume and power buttons to navigate down to Wipe data/factory reset. Select this option using the power button and confirm you want to continue when asked.

After confirmation, the data wipe/factory reset should only take a second or two to complete.

Once the factory reset has taken place, it will take you back to the previous menu. From here select Reboot system now, which is the first option in the list.

Your device will now begin to reboot and display the Crave logo with a green loading bar. Shortly this loading bar will disappear and be replaced with a 'Start Crave Emenu' button.

Please wait for a few more seconds and the Crave Launcher will automatically open.

You will see a screen with a yellow loading bar and a QR code.

This loading bar will fail to locate a pre-existing configuration so please skip this page using the skip button in the bottom right hand corner of the screen.

You will now need to locate your correct Wi-Fi network from the list and connect to it.


To connect to it, tap on the relevant network, enter the password, and press Connect.


Once connected to your correct network, you can continue by pressing the Next button.

You will now see a screen titled Setup Date and Time. This screen can be ignored as the correct date and time will pull through from your companies configuration, which will be established later in step 12.

Press the Next button to continue.

You will now see a list of Apps to be installed onto the tablet. These consist of Crave Emenu, Crave SupportTools, Crave Agent & Crave OS.


The first 4 should be white and the OS will either be green or red. The middle column containing drop downs is informing you which versions should be installed. The third column is informing you which versions are already installed, if any.


Press on the tick box on the left of each app name, including the Crave OS if red. Once ticked, press the Install Selected Apps button.


If you are unsure which versions to install, please reach out to Crave support.

The correct app versions are now downloading onto your Crave T-Mini device. Please note if you are also downloading & updating the Crave OS there will be a pop up asking you to reboot.

Press this button and your device will begin to reboot and install the new OS. After installing, you will automatically reach step 12.

Once your Crave Emenu, Crave SupportTools, Crave Agent & Crave OS are green, press the skip button at the bottom of the screen to continue. You may also skip the screen that follows. 

Do not press 'Save Configuration'.

You will arrive back at the familiar screen showing the Crave logo and the Start Crave Emenu button. Press this button and a configuration menu will appear after a few seconds that will request a username and password.

This username and password will configure the device to your company.

Each company has its own unique username and password which can be found in the Crave CMS under tools -> Installation overview. If you do not have access to the Crave CMS to find these details, please reach out to the Crave Support Team.

Once you have entered the username and password, above the username you will notice a drop down displaying the words Emenu. If you wish for your device to load as a guest facing in-room tablet, select Emenu. If you wish for your device to load as staff end order handling console, select Console.

Once Selected press Retrieve Companies.

Please note, if you receive an error message. Please double check your username and password details have been entered correctly and head over to the Wi-Fi tab to reconnect to Wi-Fi. There is a chance the Wi-Fi has dropped during the app installation process so is worth reconnecting to be safe.

If the username and password have been entered correctly, the two fields below the Retrieve Companies button should automatically populate. Hence from here, please select the relevant DeliveryPoint Group or terminal you wish to load.

Once selected press the Save button. Your device will restart and load as intended.
